Discover Aberystwyth University in person at an open day, a clearing visit day or on a campus tour.

The next opportunity to visit us is our Open Day on Saturday, 4 July. We’ll also be hosting Clearing Visit Days from 14-16 August for those applying through Clearing. Campus tours are also available on selected dates throughout the summer. Find out more about the three ways to visit below.

Open Day

Our next open day takes place on Saturday, 4 July 2026 at Aberystwyth University. Arrive from 9am to explore the university in person and find out what studying here is really like.

What to expect at an open day

An Open Day is your opportunity to visit Aberystwyth University in person and get a real feel for what it’s like to study here. You can explore the campus, learn more about your subject of interest, speak with academic staff and current students, and tour our accommodation and facilities. It’s designed to help you discover more about your course options, student life and living and studying in Aberystwyth.

Clearing Visit Days

Overview: Dates & Times

Clearing Visit Days will take place at Aberystwyth University from 12pm-16:30pm on the following dates:

Saturday, 15 August 2026

Sunday, 16 August 2026

This is your opportunity to discover more about where and what you want to study at university during the Clearing period, helping you make an informed decision and feel confident that you’ve made the right choice.

What is a Clearing Visit Day

A Clearing Visiting Day is your opportunity to experience Aberystwyth University in person and find out more about studying here before making your final decision. It’s designed to help you explore the University, meet staff and students and get a feel for campus life and the surrounding area. These visits are open to everyone, whether you have accepted a Clearing offer or are still deciding.

During your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to speak with academic staff from your chosen department, as well as staff from our accommodation, admissions and student support teams.

You’ll also be able to join a guided campus tour led by one of our student ambassadors. The walking tour lasts around one hour and includes visits to key academic departments and a range of on-campus facilities, including the library, study spaces, lecture theatres, the Arts Centre and Sports Centre. You’ll also have the opportunity to see some of our accommodation options.

Free lunch vouchers will be provided during your visit and can be redeemed at the Arts Centre cafe.

This is a great opportunity to explore the campus, discover more about student life and see what it’s like to live and study in Aberystwyth.

Campus Tours and Accommodation Visits

 

Supporting Your Visit

We’re pleased to support your travel costs for your Clearing Visit. As a Clearing Visitor, you can claim up to £65.00, depending on the distance between your home postcode and the University (calculated as a one-way journey to a specified campus postcode). The online expenses claim form will be sent to you after your visit.

More than 175 miles £65.00

As a Clearing Visitor, you’ll receive a free lunch voucher to be redeemed at the Arts Centre Cafe.

We can also offer one free night’s accommodation for you (the applicant) and one parent or guardian at our accommodation at Fferm Penglais, between 14 and 16 August 2026.

 

Additional support

Please note that we can offer additional support for care leavers, looked after children, young carers, those with no family support and other widening access groups. If the Clearing Visit expenses maximum would stop you visiting, please contact the Widening Participation team on student-recruitment@aber.ac.uk for further information.

Campus Tours

Overview: Dates & Times

Our Campus Tours run from 1pm on selected days throughout the summer. The next available dates are:

  • Wednesday, 10 June
  • Tuesday, 21 July
  • Wednesday, 29 July
  • Thursday, 6 August
  • Monday, 10 August

What is a Campus Tour

A campus tour is a guided walking tour of the University, typically lasting around one hour. Tours are usually delivered in a small group or on a one-to-one basis with a member of staff.

During your visit, we’ll show you key academic buildings, on-campus facilities and selected accommodation options. It’s a great way to explore the campus and the surrounding area while getting a feel for university life.

As part of the tour, you’ll also have the opportunity to meet a member of academic staff and chat with your guide about student life and what it’s like to study at Aberystwyth.

Clearing offer holders

If you hold a Clearing offer to study at Aberystwyth University, you will be able to claim a contribution towards your travel expenses. We can help cover the cost of your visit, with support of up to £65, depending on the distance you travel from home to the University.

Please note that travel expenses can only be claimed once, either for a Clearing Visit Day or a campus tour.
