Wyn Jones

Wyn Jones graduated from Aber with a BSc in Agriculture & Animal Science in 2013. Wyn is a professional rugby player and is a part of Scarlets Rugby.

What do you remember most about your time at Aber?

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Aber especially the first year whilst living at Pantycelyn. It was very important for me to stay true to my roots and immerse myself in Welsh culture. It was also great to meet new people.

What are you doing now career-wise and how has your Aberystwyth Degree helped?

At present I’m a full time rugby player with Scarlets. I’ve been a part of the squad since November 2013 and have been awarded a development contract for the new 2014-15 season. Studying at Aberystwyth was an opportunity to develop new skills and although my Agriculture and Animal Science degree isn’t being used currently I will be looking to put those skills into practice later in life once retired from rugby and I return home to run the family farming business.

What advice would you have for a student doing your course now?

The key for me was to enjoy my time at Aber. I think it’s important that people make the most of the opportunity, enjoy the student life and take advantage of any new experiences. Aber is a great place to study.
