Experience and knowledge
Evan’s time as a student in university allowed her to develop strong core skills, including time-management, organisation and self-motivation. These skills were crucial during her master’s degree especially, as the majority of her work was self-initiated.
Working within the finance department at Aberystwyth University gave her the opportunity to improve these skills and apply them to a professional working environment. She greatly improved on her communication skills, as many of her tasks involved helping staff and students with any queries they had. She was also able to work on administrative skills, including minute-taking, as well as organising and responding to emails.
Main responsibilities within RBI
As a Reception Assistant, Evan is the first point of contact within the RBI office. She provides support to the department across a range of functions; responding to general enquiries, supporting external visits to our department, events organisation, diary and meeting room management, processing expenses, and maintaining and monitoring office supplies.
Most enjoyable part of working at Aberystwyth University
Evan enjoys getting to know all the different people and projects that are involved with RBI, and being able to help with the day to day organisation of it all.
