Research

My research background and interest are in polar (freshwater) biogeochemistry and microbial ecology. Currently, a postdoctoral researcher working on perennial microbial activity within cryoconite (microbial habitats) in Svalbard (High Arctic).

PhD in Geography (University of Sheffield, UK), specialising in biogeochemistry and microbial ecology of snow and ice (Svalbard, High Arctic).

Also highly experienced in conducting research-based field work (Antarctica, Svalbard) and laboratory techniques in geochemistry and microbiology.
