Biography

Huw Morgan (PI) is a Reader in IMPACS. A former Leverhulme Research Fellow, he was awarded the Eilir Hedd Morgan 2014 prize for Contribution to Welsh Science. He has published 45+ refereed journal papers in astronomy’s highest-impact journals; and has lead or major roles within several international collaborations. He is PI on a STFC PRD project to develop new instrumentation for observing the solar corona, and has secured Welsh Government/European funds for research, including a cross-disciplinary collaboration with Cancer researchers at Cardiff University. He leads the Solar System Physics group at Aberystwyth University and is Chair of the Solar System Advisory Panel for STFC. He supervises several PhD students and PDRAs. He maintains an impressive record of media activity including Radio 4's Inside Science, the Guardian, New York Times and many others.
