Date joined RB&I and previous employment
John joined Physics in September 2023 as Instrument Scientist on the Enfys project, following a year spent as Research Development Officer-Sciences with RB&I. Previously he worked at The Centre for Photonics Expertise (CPE) based in AU Physics Department.
Main responsibilities at previous employment
As Research Development Officer for Sciences, John provided support to academics in finding, developing and submitting high quality research grant applications
Education and work experience
John holds a PhD in Bio Physics. He is a former power tools design engineer.
Experience and knowledge
John has experience in interdisciplinary academic research combined with wide ranging involvement in industrial collaboration.
Main responsibilities within the Enfys Project
As Instrument Scientist, John provides support to the wider Enfys team in developing testing, validation and calibration of the Enfys infra-red spectrometer to ensure it meets its scientific objectives.
