The Postgraduate Centre
The Postgraduate Centre is a 24-hour study space dedicated to postgraduate students. Apart from a few members of staff (primarily, Doctoral Academy staff), only postgraduate students have access, and you will need your student card to open the door. If you find you have any issues gaining access, please let us know.
The Postgraduate Centre is on the ground floor of the Llandinam building near the rear entrance.
There you will find:
- Quiet study spaces (private and open plan)
- Printing facilities
- A social lounge and kitchen area
- Personal storage lockers
- Six private study pods
- Group study rooms
- Computer desks
- A breast-feeding room
- Large group table
- Small group table
- A dedicated accessible study room with an adjustable sit-stand desk and chair
Personal lockers: PGR students are welcome to request a locker to store books and other study materials. We ask you to not store food or other perishables in these spaces (there is a kitchen you can use for these items) and to follow the same guidelines for the lockers in Hugh Own library.
If you would like to request a locker key please visit the enquiry desk in the Hugh Owen Library or contact askaber@aber.ac.uk / holiaber@aber.ac.uk.
Private study pods: There are six private study pods, plus an additional breastfeeding room and a wheelchair accessible room. These rooms can be booked through your online account for individual or group work.
Students are welcome to use unoccupied study pods on the condition that they defer to students who have booked and, in the case of the wheelchair accessible and breastfeeding room, to those who have such needs.
The PG Centre is a professional work environment, and we presume students will use it appropriately and treat others respectfully. If there are any complaints, please contact the Head of the Doctoral Academy.
