My research entails dissecting the mechanisms involved in the perception and transduction of mechanical stimuli that lead to morphogenic, physiological and molecular responses observed in wheat. Climate change will exacerbate extreme wind and rain, in turn increasing the prevalence of crop lodging and yield loss. Investigating how to “prime” plants to tolerate greater mechanical stress and uncovering the mechanisms behind this will contribute to future-proofing a salient monocot species. 

Additionally, I am creatively inclined. I illustrate natural history, exemplified in my published review on thigmomorphogenesis in monocots. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40001152/. I'm open to communicating about commissions, such as figures and graphical abstracts that would make any academic articles stand out.
