English Language Summer School Tutor

Fixed Term, full time

The International English Centre at Aberystwyth University is looking for qualified teachers to join its English Summer School team. We are a small, friendly centre in a beautiful seaside location.

The role of the IEC English Summer School Teacher is to deliver high quality, task-based EFL teaching to international students on the English Language Summer School, and to contribute positively to the overall student experience.

Summer Office Assistant

Dates: Friday 30 June – Friday 22 September 2023

Hours: Full time, 36.5 hours per week, including some Saturdays

Salary: Grade 3: 6 £20,688 p.a. pro rata with holiday pay paid at end of contract

Subsidised on campus accommodation, if required.

This is a great opportunity for the right person to gain experience in a varied and enjoyable customer-facing role, and to develop skills in administration, organisation and customer service.

Working as part of the Summer School team, the role of the Summer Office Assistant is to help with the smooth running of the International English Centre (IEC) summer courses through supporting the office staff, the teaching staff and the students.

Summer Social Organiser

Dates: Friday 11 August – Friday 8 September 2023

Hours: Full time, 36.5 hours per week (including Saturdays and 2 evenings per week)

Salary: Grade 3: 6 £20,688 p.a. pro rata with holiday pay paid at end of contract

The role of the Summer Social Organiser is to lead a friendly, inclusive, and culturally appropriate social programme for overseas students enrolled on IEC’s summer courses.

We are looking for a reliable individual with:

  • excellent communication and organisational skills
  • attention to detail
  • a sense of fun
  • ability to engage positively with international students with varying language levels and cultural backgrounds.

The Social Organiser will work as part of the Summer School team and will be required to work for a full-day excursion each Saturday (3 in total) and a half-day excursion each Wednesday (4 in total), plus two evening activities per week.
