Profile

My research examines the role of (in)security in policy formation, especially in illiberal regimes. I am particularly interested in seeing (in)security in politics as a process of bringing change rather than a series of discussions of the same issue. My research investigates how the threats of terrorism irreversibly change politics and society. My teaching interests primarily lie in the fields of International Relations, Foreign Policy Analysis, Russian politics, Security Studies, Comparative Politics, Terrorism and Counterterrorism, and Women, Gender, and Politics (especially the underrepresentation of gender in security and power politics).
