Teaching

Research

I continue to conduct research into global nuclear weapons issues and in parallel the Intelligence Studies field (where I serve as Executive Secretary of CIISS) and increasingly in new technology and cyber security issues. These latter interests have evolved from my work in the nuclear field and, with technology and strategy core evolutionary drivers, and include the impact of technologies on warfare and international security including the US technological advantage and the challenges the United States faces - particularly in terms of rising powers such as China. From 2014-2017 he is conducting research on SCADA systems and Cyber Security Lifecycles as part of a major collaboration with Airbus Innovations, the University of South Wales and Cardiff University funded jointly by Airbus and the Welsh Assembly Government through Foundation Wales.
