Katja Daniels is the Academic Network Manager of the Creating Safer Space research network. She organises the network’s international funding competitions, supports successful projects during set-up and implementation, arranges events and meetings, develops network policies and procedures, monitors and reports on progress, and is responsible for network communications (monthly newsletter, website, YouTube).

From 2018 - 2021, Katja worked as the Global Challenges Research Fund Institutional Strategy Officer, coordinating the Centre for International Development Research at Aberystwyth (CIDRA). From 2016 - 2018, Katja worked as the Research Development Officer for the Social Sciences.

Katja completed a PhD in the Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University in 2015. Her thesis focused on International Investment Law and the Environment, drawing upon critical theories of global politics. She worked as a Seminar Teacher on a wide range of courses throughout her PhD. She holds an MScEcon in International Relations Theory (Distinction) from Aberystwyth University, and a BA in International Relations (Class I) from the University of Exeter.
