Dr Oliver Dodd

Oliver Dodd is an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University, working on a project titled The International Political Economy of War and Peace in Colombia: Conflict Persistence and Negotiated Settlement. He completed his PhD at the University of Nottingham and previously worked as a Lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University.

His postdoctoral research builds on the findings of his PhD, examining why Colombia's armed conflict persisted for decades and why a negotiated settlement became possible in 2016. It situates these developments within broader transformations in the international political economy, exploring the relationship between world order, state formation, and the changing conditions of conflict and peacebuilding.
