Slow Internet Speeds – problem resolved

Information Services have completed investigations into the slow internet speeds being experienced by some users. The cause of the problem has been identified as misuse of the network by a small number of students living in Halls.  We have taken steps to prevent this misuse and normal service has been restored to the rest of our users. Should this misuse be repeated Information Services will have no option but to withdraw the ability for users to open ports in the University firewall.  Thank you for your co-operation.
