IT and Library Access for Registered Associate Readers

Registered Associate Readers at Aberystwyth University are provided with access to IT and library services in accordance with the University’s Regulations, Policies, and Guidelines.

To use these facilities, you will need:

  • An Aberystwyth University IT account
  • An Aber Card

Please note that Associate Readers do not have access to the full range of electronic resources available to University students and staff.

Activating Your University IT Account

Once your application for Associate Readership has been processed, you will be able to activate your University IT account online. You will receive an email with instructions as soon as your account is ready.

Your IT account allows you to:

  • Access your library account to view and manage your loans

Your Aber Card

After activating your IT account, you should apply for your Aber Card online so that it is ready for collection when you arrive on campus.

Your Aber Card can be used for:

  • Library borrowing, including self-service machines
  • Accessing the library outside core hours (entry and exit)
  • Photocopying
  • Printing from email
  • Scanning documents to email

Wireless Access

Associate Readers can access wireless internet via the PAU‑Guest network, which is available throughout the campus
