Library access for Visitors

We welcome visitors to the University's libraries.

Visitors under 16 must be supervised by a parent, guardian or school teacher.

As study space is limited, during busy periods and out of core staffed hours, access to the libraries is restricted to Aber Card holders only. Please check before you visit.

Visits from individuals

We provide the following access to facilities:

Library Collections

  • All visitors may consult our collections on a reference only basis within the library
  • Limited borrowing is available if you are eligible for one of the following schemes:

Electronic Resources

  • Some of the University's electronic resource subscriptions do allow access to members of the public for use within the library.
  • Walk in Access to Electronic Resources Terminal is available in the Hugh Owen Library to facilitate this. This terminal does not provide access to the internet or general computing facilities. Please ask at the enquiry desk.

Internet access

  • Visitors from other participating organisations can connect their devices to the eduroam wireless network
  • For visitors who do not have access to eduroam, our PAU-Guest network is available
