Coinciding with Visit Wales Year of Adventure 2016, Aberystwyth University is launching a new degree in Adventure Tourism Management.

Starting in September 2016, the degree will focus on developing the skills needed to establish and operate tourism enterprises that deliver outdoor adventure activity based holidays.

The degree is built on strong business foundations, especially marketing and small business management, which will enable a wide variety of employment options.

Dr Carl Cater, Undergraduate Director at the School of Management and Business, and Senior Lecturer in Tourism said: “A unique feature of the degree is to be able to gain nationally recognised certifications as students study, allowing them to develop their competence in a specified outdoor activity, as well as improve their employability.

“Staff teaching on the program are active in world leading adventure tourism research and are affiliated to the Adventure Tourism Research Association. And, of course Aberystwyth and the surrounding areas offer unparalleled opportunities for adventure for all our students, allowing them to develop their skills and experience to the highest levels.”

Applications are now open for the course (code N870). For further details contact: School of Management and Business, Aberystwyth University, Rheidol Building, Aberystwyth, SY23 3AL
