Aberystwyth University has gained top marks for the quality of its education and wider provision from one of the most prominent global education organisations. 

The QS Stars rating system is a comprehensive analysis of universities.

The west Wales university had the highest ranking in all the 9 categories.

Not only did it gain the maximum five star ranking overall, but also in the nine specific areas, including its teaching, inclusion, environmental impact, employability and research.

Professor Nigel Holt, Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor with responsibility for international at Aberystwyth University, said:

“We’re delighted by this global recognition for the standard and quality of so many aspects of the University’s work. For over a hundred and fifty years, our excellence in teaching and research has inspired generations of people from all over the world to change lives for the better: growing knowledge, building communities and strengthening Wales and the wider world.  

“As Wales’ first University college, we push the boundaries of innovation and knowledge - nurturing and sharing ideas and expertise that benefit people, the planet and the richness of cultural life. This new international commendation underlines how we are continuing to foster a prosperous, globally engaged Wales.”
