Main responsibilities at previous employment

During her time at the SFU Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, she has elevated the Centre’s research evaluation approaches and brokered new collaborations and established a project to reform public hearings in BC. She has also emphasized a communication strategy that centres democratic culture and values as a means to re-engage all citizens with their democracy; starting with local government.

 

Education and work experience

Dr. Wolowic is an anthropologist and ethnographer with over 15 years of experience working with diverse groups, including visible minorities, First Nations, LGBTQ, and youth. She holds a PhD from the University of British Columbia in Interdisciplinary Studies and has experience in documentary filmmaking, LGBTQ population health research, law reform, and applied research for policy improvements.

 

Experience and knowledge

Dr. Wolowic brings experience in dialogue, facilitation and ethnography to Aberystwyth University and RBI's knowledge exchange efforts.

 

Main responsibilities within RBI

As Principle Lead of the Dialogue Centre, Dr. Wolowic is accountable for delivering the centre’s operational strategy and ensure all activities consistently align with AU’s vision and strategy for research & innovation, knowledge exchange and external engagement. The Dialogue Centre will connect different communities with high quality information, facilitating conversations and services which promote new shared understandings, and developing improved services that positively affect our shared future.
