Mr Robert Bowen BA Hons (Cardiff), MSc (Audencia), PGCTHE (Aberystwyth), FHEA
Robert's research is related to the international development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in the food and drink industry in Wales. His current work focusses on the determining factors that lead to the internationalisation of food and drink SMEs in Wales, with a comparative study being conducted with similar companies in Brittany, one of Europe's leading food and drink producing areas. The aim of the research is to provide both SMEs and support agencies in Wales with advice on internationalising in future.
Robert obtained a BA (Hons) degree in French and German at Cardiff University in 2005 before working as a teacher in Nantes, France for 6 years, both for Nantes University and the Nantes/St. Nazaire Chamber of Commerce. In 2012 he obtained an MSc International Master in Management from Audencia Nantes School of Management in France and was awarded prizes for Best Student and Best Thesis, written on the internationalisation of Welsh drinks SMEs.
Joining the team of lecturers at the School of Management and Business in 2014, Robert is the first member of the department employed in partnership with the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol to develop the provision of Welsh language modules at SMB.
