Our Portering Services
Our Portering Team work mainly Monday to Friday (excluding University closed periods and Bank Holidays) across many of our Campuses and outlying areas providing a wide range of services including:
- Managing the waste streams and bin stores for over 480 tonnes of waste per year
- Removing and storing confidential waste for collection and disposal
- Setting up rooms for meetings, teaching and events
- Transporting parcels and equipment around and between Campuses
- Keeping the immediate outside of each building on Campus clean and safe
- Emptying the external litter bins and litter picking of accessible areas around Penglais Campus
- Cleaning external signage at ground level
- Deep cleaning of paved areas and pathways
- Support for events such as Open Days, Visiting Days and Graduation
- Exam set ups and support
- Carpet and Upholstery deep cleaning
- Sealing and polishing of floors
- Gritting the Campuses during bad weather in conjunction with other internal and external teams
- Emergency clean ups
- Replacing white goods within the halls of residence
