Black History Month 2023

Black History Month is for reflecting and learning from past injustices so we can look forward and celebrate the positive contributions and achievements of Black people in Wales and beyond and we will be holding events marking it. 

  • 12 October, 12:00-15:00, Picture Room, Students Union, there will be a Pop-up Research Laboratory to launch an attempt to better understand and map Aberystwyth’s links to race, anti-racism and empire.
  • 12 October 2023 7pm - 11pm, SU Main Room, the Students Union will holding a Black History Celebration Event https://www.abersu.co.uk/ents/event/7575/
  • 18 October, 13:15-14:45, L3, Llandinam Building, there will be a screening of Channel 4 documentary ‘Race & Medical Experiments: what’s the truth?’, followed by a discussion.
  • 25 October, 14:00, L3, Llandinam Building, there will be a reading group and discussion of Angela Saini’s ‘Superior’.
