Department receives funding to establish new International and UK-based links

Dr Jo Thatcher and Dr Emily Oliver have been awarded funding from the DAIWA Anglo-Japanese Foundation to initiate collaborative research with colleagues based at the University of Tsukuba in Japan. The project will build on existing expertise within the department and will examine coaches' leadership and athletes' impression management. 
The department is continuing to raise its profile within Wales, and will be hosting two research experience placements for local sixth-form students during the summer, with the support of bursaries obtained from the Nuffield Foundation. Elen Jenkins, who has recently completed her undergraduate study within the department, will also be returning to complete research over the summer having been awarded a Walter Idris bursary.
