The Colloquium will be held on Thursday 6 June (from 10.00am-4.15pm) at the Department of Politics, Aberystwyth University, in association with the Learned Society of Wales and Aberystwyth University.

Keynote speakers include:

Rt. Hon. Carwyn Jones (First Minister)

Professor Gretchen Kalonji (Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences in UNESCO)

His Excellency Matthew Sudders (Ambassador of the UK to UNESCO)

Wales has a strong tradition of internationalism and the event will be further evidence of this.  It will contribute to our efforts to ensure that Wales is engaged with UNESCO and its international and multi-lateral work in Education, Science and Culture.

The Colloquium will highlight and consider the role of UNESCO in Wales and the contribution of Welsh civil society to UNESCO's programmes, bringing together the leading Welsh experts in UNESCO's work and building on this network.  It will serve as an opportunity to bring together our collective expertise and experience and to identify new ways through which we can support our common mission of a stronger and more effective organisation.
