Aberystwyth top in UK for Student Satisfaction
The University of Wales, Aberystwyth has registered the highest score in the UK for student satisfaction in The Times Good University Guide 2008 which is published today, Thursday 16 August 2007.

Aberystwyth, with a score of 4.1, is joined at the top by four other universities, St Andrews, Loughborough, East Anglia and Leicester.

Aberystwyth has also improved its overall performance, climbing 7 places to 39th in the table, and second in Wales.

Professor Aled Jones, Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth said: “We are delighted that our students have once again this year acknowledged the safe, beautiful and welcoming atmosphere of Aberystwyth, the distinction and commitment of its staff, the exciting academic courses and the wonderfully friendly community spirit that makes studying at Aberystwyth such a memorable and rewarding experience for students from all over the world.”

“We have always been near the top of every student satisfaction survey to date, but to be voted equal first in the UK is a matter of the greatest pride for us all. At the same time, our aim is to continue to improve the student experience here in every respect. Our students, and those who'll join them here in the future, now know that they really are enjoying the best student environment that the UK can offer,” he added.

Other recent studies endorse the high student satisfaction rating enjoyed by Aberystwyth. In June 2007 a study of 34,000 student reviews by www.accommodationforstudents.com concluded that Aberystwyth is the UK's favourite university town. In The most recent National Student Survey, Aberystwyth was 5th overall in the UK with a student satisfaction rating of 90%. The Good University Guide www.thegooduniversityguide.org.uk, which was published in July 2007, placed Aberystwyth 8th overall in the UK for student satisfaction.
