On Friday the 3rd of October, the new Llandinam concourse- or ‘Think Tank’ was the setting of the Aberystwyth University Bake-Off. 30 entrants, 18 cakes, 5 categories, 4 judges and a whole lot of balloons witnessed 7 victorious bakers take home wooden spoons as winners of their category.

The event was organised by Jackie Sayce, Institute Manager at the Institute of Geography, History, Politics and Psychology, and Daisy Veronica Rendall, a Graduate Trainee at the Institute, as part of Macmillan Coffee Morning fundraising event.

The winners were:

Best Novice: Clover Winton-Polak
Best Cookie/Biscuit: Daisy Rendall
Best Savoury: Faaeza Jasdanwalla
Best Cake: Anwen Roberts
Technical Challenge: Rachel Cross and Joanna Foley
Best Pseudonym: Chris Morgan as “Livin’ on a Pear”

In all, £250 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
