Aberystwyth University welcomed pupils from every secondary schools in Ceredigion on Tuesday 27 February, for an interactive careers and skills event.

The Choose Your Future Careers Festival was organised by Careers Wales in conjunction with Aberystwyth University and supported by the Welsh Government.

Over 1,000 pupils from secondary schools throughout Ceredigion attended the event, gathering information on employment, apprenticeships, volunteering and education opportunities.

David Moyle, Head of Undergraduate Admissions & Schools Liaison, said: “Building on the success of last year’s festival, the event offered a fantastic opportunity for pupils to meet with a very broad range of exhibitors, and take part in interactive workshops and demonstrations.”

Graham Bowd, Chief Executive at Careers Wales said: “This event demonstrated to young people that there are a range of different careers out there and routes into them.

“It was encouraging to see so many major Welsh employers attending the event. It is important companies take time to invest in Wales’ future workforce and inspire them into a range of different careers.”
