Aberystwyth University is seeking nominations for the honorary role of Pro Chancellor.

The role holder would deputise when the Chancellor is absent and would undertake mainly ceremonial duties, which could include presiding at degree ceremonies or acting as an ambassador for the University at functions and events.

Appointments would be for an initial term of office of three years, which can be renewed for a second term of three years.

The University is keen to appoint one or more Pro Chancellors during 2019 and the ability to speak fluent Welsh is essential for at least one of the roles.

The nature of the role would suit individuals who live within reasonable travelling distance of Aberystwyth University, and who can accommodate functions at the University around other personal commitments.

Nominations should set out an individual’s experience and suitability for appointment, and should be submitted to the University Secretary, along with a brief CV, by 17:00 Friday 18 January 2019. Individuals may self-nominate.

Further information on the honorary role of Pro Chancellor is available on the University’s website: www.aber.ac.uk/pro-chancellor.
