Dr Ahmed Mohammed is a lecturer in Accounting and Finance. He holds an MSc in Finance and Business Analytics and a PhD in Finance, and he is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). Before joining Aberystwyth University, Ahmed worked in auditing and financial consultancy in different countries, gaining extensive professional experience that informs his teaching and research.
His research interests lie in corporate reporting and financial disclosure, with a particular focus on content analysis, credit risk, board characteristics, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors. He is also interested in the tone and readability of annual reports and their implications for market outcomes.
In his teaching, Ahmed draws on both academic and professional expertise to engage students in the fundamentals of accounting and finance, while encouraging critical thinking and the application of theory to real-world practice.
