Students who hold other visa permissions

As part of the admissions process some applicants will have declared that they do not need CAS to apply for a Student visa as they already hold a UK immigration permission that enables them to study in the UK. The admissions team will ensure that evidence is requested and recieved before confirming your place. The UKVI Compliance Office will review all records to ensure that the correct evidence is held on file.

If any additional checks or copies of visas are required prior to registration, the UKVI Compliance Office will contact you directly.

The following are just some examples of visa types/immigration permissions that are accepted as valid proof of Right To Study:

  • Dependant visa
  • Child Dependant visa
  • Ukraine Scheme Visa
  • EU Settled Status
  • EU Pre-settled status
  • Youth Mobility Visa
  • Hong Kong BNO Visa
  • Indefinite Leave to Remain
  • Limited Leave To Remain

Most proof of current visa status will take the form of an eVisa.

If you are asked to provide a share code, you will already be able to generate a share code by visiting View and prove your immigration status: get a share code - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

(Please note that you must use the link above to generate a code and not a Right To Work or Right to Rent code you may have also used in the past.)

If you have not set up a UKVI account yet , please do so here  Get access to your eVisa: Overview - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Students who hold time limited permission will need to provide updated proof of valid immigration permission to ensure continued registration on their course. Students will be contacted and reminded to do this.

If your immigration permission changes whilst you are registered you must inform the UKVI Compliance Office and provide a share code so that your record can be updated.

Failure to provide valid proof after your current visa expires will result in suspension of your registration.
