Pre-Registration 2024/2025
Department of English and Creative Writing
If you are taking a degree scheme which is taught jointly with another department you must ensure you meet their pre-registration requirements too.
The following are specific requirements for students taking single and joint honours schemes in the Department of English and Creative Writing.
You should note that numbers on the following core modules are not capped:
EN20120 Literary Theory: Debates and Dialogues
EN30120 Reading Theory/Reading Text
EN30000/40 Dissertation
WR20220 Beginning the Novel
WR30000/40 The Writing Project
The remaining modules are all options and numbers on these may be capped, depending on take-up.
The English and Creative Writing Department has a compulsory two-step process for module registration. Step One: Provisional Registration; & Step Two: Pre-Registration.
Departmental pre-registration booklets, giving details of degree scheme structures and modules for 2024-2025 are being distributed via e-mail by Friday 29 of March 2024. Copies of the department’s provisional-registration module preference form will be emailed in the week ending the 12 of April. These materials will also be available on Blackboard (Department Undergraduate Information pages) by these dates.
Step One: Module Provisional-Registration Preference Forms will be completed by students in compulsory scheduled in-person slots between the 15 of April and the 17 of April. Students who miss their dedicated provisional registration form-filling slots should return their forms as soon as possible, preferably in that week, and before on-line Pre-registration.
Students who have last-minute queries about module registration should contact the department, by e-mail (engstaff@aber.ac.uk) during the first three days of the Easter term (15 April - 17 April 2023).
Step Two: On-line pre-registration will be open to students from 9.00 a.m. on 18th April – 26 of April. (Prior to this date you will only be able to view your record, not make any module choices). Go on-line and complete the pre-registration page, submit your pre-registration choices then await verification (via email) from the relevant department(s).
This process must be completed by 26 of April.
