Outlook Mailtip (‘I speak Welsh’)
Staff can now include a Mailtip on internal Outlook profiles to indicate their Welsh language ability.
Go to https://myadmin.aber.ac.uk then to the Online Staff Profile app to note whether you speak Welsh or can speak some Welsh and save your changes. Read more on the FAQ.
Email signatures and out of office messages
The Marketing team has a university branded bilingual email signature template.
There is also a template for trip notes (out of office messages).
‘Working Welsh’ Logo (the orange speech bubble)
The ‘working Welsh’ logo (the orange speech bubble) is used by organisations and staff across Wales to show that they can speak Welsh. Working Welsh and ‘Dysgwr’ (learner) lanyards are available from the Hugh Owen Library.
Microsoft Teams Background
GMSR has several corporate Microsoft Teams background images which include the Working Welsh logo to show colleagues that you can speak Welsh.
'Working Welsh' logo and Poster for Receptions
This is the Welsh Language Commissioner’s website. Receptions are expected to display a poster to note that Welsh Language Services are available. You can download the poster from the website above.
Job titles
Every job advert is published bilingually in accordance with the Welsh Language Standards; therefore, HR should be able to confirm your Welsh/English job title. You are also welcome to contact the translation team to check translation@aber.ac.uk

Cysgliad is a computer package for your PC to help correct linguistic mistakes which includes a dictionary.

To Bach – Welsh Circumflex
To Bach is a free software application available to download from the Software Centre which makes placing a cimcumflex and accents for Welsh very easy. By pressing Alt Gr and a letter, it places a circumflex (tô bach) on vowels e.g. â ê î ô û ŵ ŷ

Y Porth
Y Porth is an e-learning platform for the Welsh Medium Higher Education Sector which includes learning and teaching resources and information about collaborative Welsh medium modules.
The website facilitates collaboration between Higher Education Institutions in Wales, and the University both offers, and takes advantage of, collaborative modules. A number of open and restricted resources may be found on this website and it is used by students who study through the medium of Welsh.

Gwerddon is an academic e-journal which publishes scholarly research in Welsh in the Sciences, Arts and Humanities.
