Where do I go for the Clearing Visit?
The meeting point for our Clearing Visits is based in Aberystwyth Arts Centre. We would recommend you use the following postcode if using a satnav: SY23 3DE.
The Arts Centre is in the middle of the Aberystwyth University campus. To get to us turn off from the main road (Penglais Hill) and onto the campus. You will see the main University reception on your left, then follow the main route onto the campus. You will see the Hugh Owen Library on your left and the ‘Bell Tower’ up ahead. Keep following the road along, turn left at the mini-roundabout, and follow the road up a small hill to the visitor’s car park which is on your left. You’ll be able to see the Arts Centre ahead of you at the very end of the road. Parking is free.
I'm coming in a car, will there be somewhere for me to park?
Yes, there will be free parking available for you.
When you approach Aberystwyth by road, you will see signs directing you to Aberystwyth University; these will lead you to Penglais Campus. Look out for the bright yellow square signs containing a picture of a mortarboard (academic cap). This will take you to the reception area on campus.
Car Parking is available free of charge behind the Arts Centre. See car park P13 & P14 on page 1 of this map.
I'm coming on the train, how do I get to Penglais Campus?
There are regular train services to Aberystwyth. Please refer to the National Rail Enquiries web site for train times and route options. Aberystwyth Railway Station is situated in the town centre, adjacent to the Bus Station and Taxi rank.
Once at the station take a taxi to Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Penglais Campus.
As a Clearing Visitor you can claim up to a maximum of £65.00 based on the distance of a one-way journey between your home postcode and a specified university postcode. The online expenses claim form will be shared with you following your visit.
