Yasir Saleem is currently a Lecturer at Aberystwyth University, UK in the Department of Computer Science since January 2022. He was previously a Postdoctoral Researcher in FUN Team at INRIA Lille - Nord Europe, France from February 2020 to December 2021 and was working with Dr. Nathalie Mitton and Dr. Valeria Loscri. He completed his Ph.D. from Institut Mines-Telecom, Telecom SudParis andInstitut Polytechnique de Paris, France in January 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Noel Crespi and Dr. Roberto Minerva. He received his Master (by research) degrees in Computer Science under a dual degree programme of Sunway University, Malaysia and Lancaster University, United Kingdom in 2015. He was also a Research Assistant at Sunway University, Malaysia during his Master research and his placement was at MIMOS Berhad, Malaysia's national applied research and development centre under the Ministry of Science, Technology And Innovation for the duration of his Masters. He worked as a software developer at KNYSYS for about one year.

His research interests include Internet of things (IoT), vehicular networks, smart cities, privacy preservation, wireless networks (cognitive radio networks, wireless sensor networks and cognitive radio sensor networks) and routing (flat and clustered).

He served as a TPC member for IEEE Globecom 2021, IEEE VTC 2021 Fall, IEEE NetSoft STET Workshop 2018, FMEC 2016-2018 and MELECON 2016. He is also a reviewer of various journals, such as IEEE Transaction on Wireless Communications, IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Wireless Communications, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, Pervasive and Mobile Computing Elsevier, Ad Hoc Networks, Computer Networks, IEEE Access and many more, as well as of various conferences, such as IEEE ICC, IEEE Globecom, MICC and IWCMC.
