Plant Science Wales Meeting to Take Place at National Botanic Garden of Wales This September

01 July 2025
We are pleased to announce that IBERS is organising the Plant Science Wales Meeting 2025, taking place at the National Botanic Garden of Wales on 9–10 September 2025.
This exciting Learned Society of Wales event will bring together plant scientists from across Wales to build connections, share research, and discuss the big issues shaping the future of the field. The meeting will feature:
- Keynote speakers (TBC) on themes such as biophilia, conservation, succession planning, and societal impact
- Rapid-fire talks and poster sessions, with a strong focus on PhD students and early career researchers
- Breakout discussions on policy, education, funding, careers, and the future of plant sciences
- A pre-meeting programme including tours of the National Seed Bank, herbarium, and meadows for those arriving the day before
Our goals are to reduce fragmentation across the Welsh plant science community, foster collaboration, and create an inclusive, PhD-friendly environment where foundational and applied plant sciences can thrive.
We warmly invite researchers, students, educators, and anyone interested in plant science to join us.
