Congratulations to Dr Mari Davies on her PhD graduation!
We are delighted that our colleague Dr Mari Davies graduated yesterday after successfully completing her PhD at Aberystwyth University.
Mari now works as a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) in the Agricultural Systems team here at IBERS. As part of the Grassland Resilience for Net Zero (LUNZ) project, she continues to contribute to research focused on the sustainability and resilience of agricultural systems.
Mari's PhD research - titled "Mewnwelediad ar effeithlonrwydd defnydd adnoddau ysgarthion ar ffermydd da byw" (Insight into the resource use efficiency of excreta on livestock farms) - explored nutrient use efficiency and nitrogen management in Welsh livestock systems, combining stakeholder engagement, machine learning and environmental modelling to improve understanding of sustainable nutrient management.
Another notable achievement is that Mari completed her entire PhD through the medium of Welsh, highlighting the important role of Welsh as a language of research and scientific communication.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to DLS and all of Mari's supervisors for their guidance, encouragement and support throughout her PhD journey.
