English Language Study Abroad

 

The English Language Study Abroad programme helps to improve students' academic and general English language within the teaching and learning environment of a UK university.

We look forward to welcoming you to Aberystwyth University's International English Centre. Our high-quality and experienced teachers look forward to supporting you in your learning and immersion into British culture and UK student life.

Course Overview

The English Language Study Abroad programme takes place from September until December totalling 12 weeks of study.

  • up to 20 hours a week of classes
  • regular weekly meetings with a personal tutor
  • opportunity to attend academic lectures/seminars in departments including business, international politics, or theatre,film and television studies
  • small class sizes, with a maximum of 16 students per class
  • end of term assessments and end of course reports provided, including tutor feedback
  • diverse class environments, studying English alongside students from different cultures and nationalities

Entry Requirements

Age

You must be over 17 years old before the course start date.

Level

Students must have an English level of at least CEFR B1 (IELTS 4.0). If you do not have a test certificate, we can arrange a Teams interview to assess your English level.

How to apply

Group bookings

We welcome group bookings for the English Language Study Abroad programme. To complete a group application, please complete the below:

  • Group booking form
  • Valid scanned passports for all individuals 
  • English language test certificate (e.g. - IELTS / TOEFL) for all individuals

All completed documents can be returned to tesol@aber.ac.uk by 27 June 2025.
