2015 - Dr Rebecca Johnson - 'Remember Humanity: Security Imperatives to Ban Nuclear Weapons'

The 2015 David Davies Memorial Institute Annual Lecture will be delivered by Dr. Rebecca Johnson. A world-leading expert on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, Dr. Johnson will focus on humanitarian aspects of banning nuclear weapons. Dr. Johnson is currently the executive director of the Acronym Institute for Disarmament Diplomacy. She also serves as a member of the International Panel on Fissile Materials and advisory group for the International Action Network on Small Arms. Dr. Johnson has written widely on security, disarmament diplomacy, peace and justice. She has worked as consultant for the United Nations, the European Parliament, the Nobel Women’s Initiative and the Interaction Council.
 
Dr Johnson’s DDMI Annual Lecture is entitled ‘Remember Humanity: Security Imperatives to Ban Nuclear Weapons’. It will take place in the Main Hall, International Politics Building, Aberystwyth University on Thursday, 13 November, 6PM. The annual lecture series is generously supported by the Gwendoline and Margaret Davies Charity.
