Open Source Quantum Computing

Alexander Pitchford from the Department is one of the key developers behind QuTiP - a leading open-source software system used worldwide in quantum dynamics simulation, supporting research and development of technologies such as quantum computing.
Since its release, QuTiP has been downloaded more than a million times and is in use at nearly every single research university around the globe as well as in government-funded research laboratories and in major corporations.
