Core hours: 09:00-17:00 Monday-Friday

Information Services offers a range of services and support between 09:00-17:00 Monday-Friday during term and vacation times (except when the libraries are closed).

There are a variety of silent, individual and group study spaces available in the Iris de Freitas Room and on Level D and Levels E & F of the Hugh Owen Library.

Please note:                                                                You must bring your Aber Card to use the Library and the study spaces

Levels E & F 

There are a range of study spaces, individual and group study rooms on Levels E & F. Our collections of books are also kept on these levels.

If you want to use the group study rooms and individual study carrels,you will need to book them in advance (follow the links). 

How to get to Levels E and F 

Come into the Library through the main entrance and up the stairs at the far end of Level D

Iris de Freitas Room

The Iris de Freitas Room has a mix of individual and group study rooms, study spaces, a printer/photocopier/scanner and a vending area. 

If you want to use the the study rooms, please book them in advance. 

How to find the Iris de Freitas Room

Come into the library through the main entrance and go to Level E. From the stairs, turn right, go past the two study rooms and you'll see the entrance to the Iris de Freitas Room through the next door on your right.

• The Fire Alarms are both the Klaxon and bell types. Deaf alerters are available from the Enquiry Desk on level D
  It is essential that the lift should not be used when the fire alarm is in operation.
• Please contact Student Support Services and Health, Safety and Environment Office to arrange a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) for the Library if relevant.
