Pre-Registration
Geography and Earth Sciences
The following are specific requirements for students taking single and joint honours schemes in Geography and Earth Sciences.
If you are taking a degree scheme which is taught jointly with another department you must ensure you meet their Pre-Registration requirements too.
The Department of Geography and Earth Sciences will place advice for Pre-registration on the Blackboard site of the Organisations module ‘Undergraduate Information for the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences'. This advice will be available from Monday 14th September onwards. This module has a folder called ‘Pre-Registration’ that will include advisory information for study schemes and module requirements for 2026/27. You will then enter your chosen modules on your student record using the Pre-registration task by the end of Monday 21st September.
First Years please note: In Year 1, most DGES 3 year schemes and 4 year integrated year in industry/year studying abroad schemes consist of entirely core modules, but you will need to choose the English or Welsh version of some modules. There are a couple of schemes where optional modules are available so refer to your scheme details carefully here.
Remember that if you have any questions about Pre-registration, you can contact your personal tutor or the module coordinators. Your tutors may be available to hold individual meetings via Microsoft Teams or your questions may be answered via email. You are also welcome to contact the department directly by emailing dgostaff@aber.ac.uk.
