META-PHOR

META-PHOR, an EU Framework VI project, began in October 2006 and involved 22 collaborators from academia and industry. It brought together key European players in plant metabolic profiling, analytical chemistry, plant biology and human nutrition, in a focused, coordinated initiative which developed a high throughput metabolite-based phenotyping platform appropriate for the targeted improvement of plant breeding, engineering and processing strategies aimed at range of food products with enhanced nutritional quality. Aberystwyth played a central role in collection of experimental meta-data and high-throuput analytical data for a range of technologies. This is reflected in a central database and of developing reporting standards in the context of the Metabolomics Society Metabolomics Standards Initiative
