Greg Walsh: new PhD student

06 January 2014

My name is Greg Walsh and I am currently at the beginning of a PhD in Biomechanics of ageing related to fall risks in the elderly. I am new to the department, having completed an MSc in Sports Biomechanics at Liverpool John Moores University and BSc (Hons) at University of Hertfordshire in Sport and Exercise Science (Performance). Whilst at Liverpool John Moores my research focused on optimising data processing methods of biomechanical signals. I determined how alterations in these methods can manifest themselves as changes in the outcome variables; specifically in the interpretation of the stiffness of the knee joint. Outside of research my main interests lie in rugby and strength and conditioning, both as a player and coach.
