If you have any questions about applying to, studying at or living in Aberystwyth, do not hesitate to contact us using the details below.
Students who have completed 12 years of education in China and attained the Secondary School Leaving Certificate must complete a Foundation Programme or GCE A-level for progression on to the undergraduate courses.
International students who do not meet the academic requirements for undergraduate study may pursue the International Foundation Programme offered by Aberystwyth University, International English Center (IEC). The Foundation Programme is a pre-university qualification that provides a direct pathway onto one of our undergraduate degree programmes. Further information can be found at https://www.aber.ac.uk/en/international-english/courses/ipp/
If students have a recognised foundation programme from China, or the UK (e.g. INTO, WISC, NCUK), then they may be eligible for entry on to the 1st Year of a degree at Aberystwyth University. They will also need to demonstrate proficiency in English language.
Students who completed Year 1 of undergraduate degree studies from a recognised Chinese university may be considered for direct entry to some of the first-year undergraduate programmes. However, we strongly advise you to check this with the Admissions Tutor of the relevant programme before making the application. Applications must be made through UCAS. You would also need to demonstrate proficiency in English language. Students who completed Zhanke Diploma in China may be considered for direct entry to some of the second-year undergraduate programmes.
