Qualifications
BSc (Honours), 1st Class, Computer Science
Profile
My first degree is in computer science, where I gained a formal training in skills that I have been developing my whole life (particularly programming, computer infrastructure, and database systems). At the end of my degree, I received awards for having the highest grade of my cohort as well as highly commended work on my final project (for which I developed an app designed to support modern foreign language teachers and students in England & Wales).
Throughout my undergraduate degree I also took classes in the field of education, as well as teaching various subjects to young people in the Army Cadet Force.
Currently, I am a PhD student in Aberystwyth studying policy, teaching, and assessment in the context of digital education. My research looks at the way computers are used in Welsh schools, and the attitudes towards them (with some treating computers as a panacea; others being against their use in schools completely) with the aim of improving the experience and learning outcomes of Welsh students.
