How do I apply for a permit?

Once you have applied for a permit you will receive an email within 48 working hours confirming when your permit will be available for collection.  If you do not receive an email within this time please contact or 01970 62 1660/2960 to check the status of your request.

Full and part time staff

To request a new permit please log into your Aber People account, select your employment, followed by your personal information, then select the Deductions tab. You can then select the appropriate tick box after reading the parking regulations

Please note: Part-time staff are classed as those working 20 hours per week or less.

Casual staff, or those unable to pay through their salary

After reading the parking regulations, please buy your permit through the online shop.

Retired, Honorary or Emeritus staff

After reading the parking regulations, please buy your permit through the online shop.

How much does a parking permit cost?

Parking charges are approved by the Finance and General Purposes Committee of the University and are revised each year. Parking charges for the 2020 - 2021 academic session are:

Where can I park?

You can park in designated parking areas as shown on the Penglais parking mapLlanbadarn parking map and Gogerddan parking map- staff parking is marked in yellow.

What happens if I park without a permit?

In the first instance, any vehicle contravening the University Parking Regulations will be issued with a warning notice. In the case of a second contravention, a Parking Charge Notice will be issued and attached to the windscreen. The charge is £80 but if the debt is paid promptly (within 14 days) a 50% discount will be applied (£40). More information about the University's Parking Regulations.

What do I do if I change my car?

Please keep your permit sticker, this can be transferred to your new vehicle. Any permit sticker(s) you have are assigned to you as an individual and can be moved between your registered vehicle(s) as required.

If your window sticker is green or yellow, please contact us on or 01970 62 1660/2960 with your new registration details and we will be able to update this on your behalf.

Can I register a second vehicle?

Yes you can register up to two vehicles, as long as only one of these is on campus at any one time.  Both vehicles would need permits displayed at all times.  You can register your second vehicle by e-maiing EF&R or telephone (01970) 621660/2960 to inform them of the registration number.  A new permit will then be issued.

Do parking restrictions apply out of hours?

Parking restrictions in staff areas are applicable between 08.00 - 17.30. Outside of these hours, staff car parks can be generally used by visitors. Parking on double yellow lines, pedestrian crossings and delivery areas is prohibited at all times.
