Funding

Aberystwyth University applies to the Welsh Government's Taith scheme and to the UK government's Turing Scheme for funds to support your time abroad.

We also grant money to eligible students from the European Opportunities Fund which is unique to Aberystwyth.

The Global Opportunities team will assess your personal circumstances and the duration, destination and nature of your chosen overseas opportunity to determine which fund will best support you.

The European Opportunities fund is unique to Aberystwyth, made possible by the very generous donation of a former Aberystwyth student.

The fund helps towards living and travel costs for short activities in the European Union. It is available to part-time and full-time UK domiciled students on foundation, undergraduate or taught Masters courses who wish to work, study, volunteer or attend conferences.

To be eligible you must:

  • Be a UK-domiciled student on foundation, UG or taught Masters course.
  • Take part in a programme of 3 days to 4 week in an EU country.
  • Complete a research questionnaire and attend pre-departure and return events
