International Student Deposit

All International applicants are required to pay a tuition fee deposit in order to complete the admissions process in relation to a postgraduate course at Aberystwyth University.

Only applicants who provide evidence that they have a full scholarship or funding (i.e. entire cost of tuition fees plus living costs) and Aberystwyth University graduates (from full courses courses at Bachelors level or above) will be exempt.

Applicants can pay the tuition fee deposit directly to Aberystwyth University via one of the following methods:

  • International Bank Transfer

Deposits are non-refundable unless original evidence of the UKVI's decision to refuse the visa is provided. If this evidence is provided then requests for a deposit refund are considered on a case-by-case basis by the university's Academic Registrar.  If a visa refusal is the result of the submission of misleading or inaccurate information by the applicant as part of their visa application, the deposit will be withheld and the offer of a place of study withdrawn.

Please note that any deposit refunds approved  can only be paid to the source of the initial payment of that deposit.

Tuition fee deposits may be deferred along with the place of study up to a maximum of two years from the initial start date.

Once an applicant has registered with the University, and officially becomes an Aberystwyth University student, the University's Finance Office will reconcile the deposit with the student’s tuition fee payment schedule.
