The information below relates to the on-screen instructions of the Pre-Registration task under the “My Tasks” card on your Student Record. Please follow the steps below to pre-register all your module choices for next session (academic year 2026/2027).

Please note: the modules that appear on your Student Record before you complete step 5 of the Pre-Registration process for the next session are the core modules for your study scheme.

Advising/Consultation Period: Monday, 20 April – Wednesday, 22 April 2026

During this period the data on your record will be locked and you will not be able to enter any modules (Step 5), but you should access the data when consulting the information on the databases, and attend any departmental meetings.

It is important that you attend any meetings arranged by your department(s) regarding Pre-Registration and take the time to discuss/review next session's module choices during this period.

STEP 1 - Please read the General Information relating to Pre-Registration.

STEP 2 - Please consult the Departmental Requirements for all departments where you propose to study next session to ensure you meet their requirements.

STEP 3 - Access the Study Schemes Database to check the requirements for your scheme.

STEP 4 - Access the Modules Database for details on all modules to be taught next session.

Changing your Scheme

If you wish to change your Study Scheme you must discuss it with your department first then process a Change of Registration request online via your Student Record before you can complete Pre-Registration.  Go to the "Making Changes to My Course" card, then choose "I want to change my scheme or modules".  A pop-up should appear to re-direct you to a different screen.  From here, follow the on-screen instructions.  Further guidance can be found on the Changing your Study Scheme or Modules page.

Module Registration Period: Thursday, 23 April – Friday, 01 May 2026

Your record will be unlocked from 9am on 23 April.  During this module registration period you will be free to enter module choices for next session following consultation with your department(s).

STEP 5 -  Input your module choices and click on the "Confirm Pre-Registration Choices" button to complete the process and receive further instruction.

Please note:

  • You may see two buttons during the process - "Save Changes" and "Confirm Pre-Registration Choices".  Saving changes alone does not submit your choices - you must ensure you choose "Confirm Pre-Registration Choices" to submit your choices and complete the process.
  • Ensure you have chosen the required number of credits necessary for your scheme (usually 120, including core modules).
  • It is possible that certain optional modules will not run – for example, if enrolment numbers are too low or if there are any unforeseen staffing changes following the completion of Pre-Registration.
  • If you are struggling to complete the tasks, or encounter error messages that do not allow you to progress, please contact your department or ugfstaff@aber.ac.uk in good time for further support and guidance.

STEP 6 - You must ensure you complete Pre-Registration online by Friday, 01 May 2026 at the very latest.
