Visa Support & Advice

Students who come from outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland will need a study type visa before they can enrol and study on a course at Aberystwytyh University.

There are two types of study visas that will allow you to study at Aberystwyth University: Tier 4 (General) visa or Short-term Study visa

The pages below will help you to find the information that you need to apply for a Tier 4 visa, Short-term Study visa, as well as provide you with visa information if you are travelling to Europe or need advice on replacing a lost passport or visa.  If you cannot find the information that you need, please contact the International Student Adviser on immigrationadvice@aber.ac.uk.

Coronavirus COVID-19

If your visa expires on the 31 July 2020 but you are not able to leave the UK, you will be able to stay in the UK until the 31 August 2020 on the same immigration category and conditions. You do not need to notify the Home Office that you are not able to leave the UK.

If your visa expires on the 31 July and you are not able to leave the UK by the 31 August 2020, you will need to request additional time to stay in the UK by contacting the Coronavirus Immigration Team (CIT), email CIH@homeoffice.gov.uk.  It is very important that you do this, otherwise your immigration status in the UK will not be protected, and, you may have problems in the future applying for a visa to come to the UK.
